As you are led on your way to eternal life, remember that there is an enemy who will try to make your journey a solitary and painful one. Do not allow the enemy’s wiles to even begin to penetrate. Take up and carry the shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16), trusting in the Lord to protect you from the spears and arrows of Satan.

And if your faith seems weak or you begin to doubt, cry out to the Lord for help (Mark9:24), for He is faithful to hear your cry (1 Thessalonians 5:24). The Lord will provide (Matthew 6:30) all that is necessary for your trek on this earth and will not leave you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

This is the first and primary defense that you have to defeat the evil one. Guard it jealously, wear it proudly, show it to everyone and use it to sway others to hear God’s call. For if not you then who? Who will answer His call to go (Isaiah 6:8)?
