There is a voice within you that will try to convince you to carry all of the hurts, the resentments and the pain of past events and relationships with you as you move forward through time. This voice will tell you to leave the good feelings behind because they are too heavy to carry and leave no room for the baggage the evil one wants you to carry (Nahum 1:11).

There is another voice. A voice speaking quietly to your soul telling you to replace your troubles with the peace of Jesus. If you don’t want relief from your pain yet, that is all right for the Lord is patient. When you have exhausted your own ability to carry on, when you are unable to see beyond your own pain, when you have come to the end of your road He is there waiting. He wants to relieve you of your burdens (Nahum 1:13) and give you rest.

Matthew 11:28-30 truly says it best: “Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke on you and learn of Me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest to your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Here is question of the day. If the Lord is waiting willing to relieve your burdens, why wait another minute?
