Go. Where? To the world. To do what? To proclaim the gospel. Why? So that “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”(Mark 16:16).

We wield a double edged sword when we proclaim the gospel. Too often we forget the second half of the why we go. It is very uncomfortable to think that ‘he that believeth not shall be damned’. The only way that we should proclaim the gospel is to proclaim all of the truth.

The truth is that Jesus lived without sin, was condemned by man, took our sins upon Himself, for our sins was crucified on the cross and on the third day ascended back to heaven to sit at the right hand of God to intercede for those who believe. Those who choose to not believe have no place in heaven and no matter how much we love them they will be among the damned.

The goal therefore should not be to withhold the gospel but to proclaim it loudly and often to family and to friends as well as to acquaintances and strangers. Intercede in prayer for those who are lost and rejoice for those who are saved. Go… now.
