In Matthew 5:18: “…as long as heaven and earth last, not the least point nor the smallest detail of the Law will be done away with…”

In Luke 10:27: “…He said, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”

Sometimes we forget that the law of the Lord is as inclusive as His love. In fact the New Testament speaks about the how important it is to follow the law as much as it does about grace under God’s love.

How do we reconcile the law of God with the love of God? For Christians, we are to follow the law and know that we are under God’s grace covered in the blood of Jesus and bathed in the love of the Lord. For others, Christians are to show God’s love and God’s law and how to seek God’s grace and forgiveness so they too can be covered in the blood of Jesus and bathed in the love of the Lord.

Jesus said in Mark 1:15: “… the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God draws near. Repent, and believe the gospel.”

This is the message we need to convey without rancor, without judgment, without condemnation, always with love, with gentleness and with compassion.
