Everyone has felt a calling to do something for the Lord and then immediately thought ‘no, I needn’t exactly do that, it will be OK if I do something close’. This happens very frequently because satan works in the shadows. Satan is the great deceiver and he will disguise his whisperings and tell you that you are unworthy of doing the Lord’s will or that what he says is so close to the Lord’s will that it won’t matter.

If you have tested His calling with prayer and fasting and believe that it is the will of the Lord, let nothing deter you from making your plans and serving the Lord.

Remember that plans that you make without God are not real, not viable, not going to work out for you. Of course, God will take your disobedience, your desire to ‘go it alone’ and make it work for His glory, you just may not be happy with how your part turns out.

As Paul says in Philippians 2:13 “for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” God is working in you for His good pleasure, you just need to have faith that His pleasure includes your salvation.
