Those who work in the various volunteer organization helping the poor and the disenfranchised need your prayers and support. Humanitarian workers see the huge gap between available resources and the needs of the poor, the mentally ill, the survivors of abuse, the addicted, ETC. and they can become discouraged. Let us not ignore these angels of the Lord, pray for them, give financial support, go and volunteer.

Acknowledging that there are problems in the world is a step, but only a first step. Praying is a step, but only the second step. Donating money, food, clothing is also a step, but only the third step. Your time, your presence and your compassion are the logical next step.

When you commit your life to the Lord, when you realize just what He sacrificed for you and when you think about your response to that sacrifice, you have to go ‘all in’. You have to respond to the needs of others with all that you have and all that you are. Anything less is cheating God and yourself.

Pray for the Lord to give direction to your life. Pray for Him to guide your feet to a need and pray for the way to fill that need. If you pray He will answer. A word of caution, wait and listen for His answer.
