Not only do we need to be able to say “Here I am Lord, send me”, but, even more importantly, we need to say “Here I am Lord, use me”. I have a friend who likes to tell people that he nothing but a tool in the toolbox of the Lord. Jesus has prepared him to perform a certain function and that is his purpose. He is not a multi-functional tool with many facets. His sole function is to proclaim the gospel to anyone who will listen, but mainly to bikers.

When we reach the end of ourselves, when we realize that all we do in this world is useless without God, then we are ready to be shaped by the Great Potter on His divine wheel. We are ready to be made into whatever tool the Lord decides. Be willing to change for the Lord. He has plans for you and His will is that you would learn to love Him and all mankind so much that you would be willing to give your very life so that others would come to Him. Let the Lord rule in your life so you will have the freedom to be used by God to serve Him by serving others.
