Memories… sweet memories. God is always present with us but there are times when we feel Him more, see Him clearer and can speak of Jesus and His love more effectively. Yesterday was such a day and a true blessing for all who attended. For those do not know, the organization that I periodically volunteer for, CAP (the Christian Appalachian Project) celebrated their 50th year of service to the people of Appalachia by having a reunion of the volunteers who have served over the past 50 years.

Literally hundreds of people arrived Saturday morning and participated. Old friendships were renewed and new friendships were formed. The unity of purpose, the sharing of God’s love and the principles of CAP (community, service and spirituality made this an extraordinary event, a family reunion. Not just any family reunion but a reunion of God’s family.

This too, is part of why Linda and I volunteer and why we are so in love with CAP. Like any family, there can and will always be disagreements, like any family CAP has good and bad days. But, unlike any other family, God is always first and God is always felt. Fun is better with God, friendships are better with God and parting is easier knowing that we will meet again, either here or in the hereafter.
