Yesterday while we were resting (?) in Shreveport we went to visit a couple who helped Linda during a difficult time in her childhood. It was a wonderful surprise for Miss Joyce and Mr. Harold. They are staying in an assisted living facility that is awesome. But no matter how special the surroundings are, it is not a place of choice and the only thing that makes it survivable is the visits of old friends and family. Do not forget the elderly. Those we used to honor in the past are too often warehoused and left to age alone and lonely.

When asked which of the commandments were most essential for salvation Jesus replied in Matthew 19:18-19 … “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,’ and ‘love your neighbor as yourself.'”
