The blessings that Christians receive by caring for others is manifold. You are recognized by your compassion and love for others and guaranteed entrance into heaven and eternal life with Jesus.

Mat 25:34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

If you continue reading you soon discover a very uncomfortable fact that applies to all Christians who ignore the hard truths of this world. For those who are fortunate, a burden of compassion is given, a responsibility to help those less fortunate. It is here in Matthew that the blessing is spoken about, and it is also here in Matthew where the consequences of failure are outlined.

Matthew 25:45-46 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Are you one of the righteous ones who sees the less fortunate, the poor, the sick and the imprisoned and helps? Or, are you one of the unrighteous Christians who speaks of the less fortunate with words and yet does nothing? Eternity is riding on your answer.
